I was born and raised in Florida man. Born to two wonderful, loving Puerto Rican parents, we stayed at the Homestead Airforce base till my little brother was a couple years old. By then, my parents had realized they needed support to raise two small toddlers with no additional family members in South Florida. So, we moved to Orlando in the hopes of being closer to some relatives that would be able to assist. We took our roots in East Orlando in 1994, to the house my parents still live in to this day.
Growing up, my parents had made an emphasis on attending church. We ended up in Calvary Chapel Orlando when I was in 3rd grade. I may have been in a healthy, biblically minded church for many years, but didn’t truly accept the free gift of salvation till I was in high school. I went to college at Valencia Community College (now known as Valencia College) and then transferred over to the University of Central Florida while being heavily involved in the youth ministry at the church. I received my Bachelors of Science in Mathematics for Physics and Engineering in 2016.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of tutoring and teaching one-on-one with many students in a variety of courses. I took a part time job as a tutor at Valencia College for a couple of years. While living in Kansas, I became a high school virtual Concept Coach for the Instructional Services department of an online school program called Imagine Learning. I missed working with students in person, so when the opportunity arose to be a full time high school instructor I jumped at the bit. I look forward to helping students succeed in subjects that they often deem too hard or unattainable. Every student can learn and grow in every subject…just takes time.
